I am Saara Lappalainen, a Master of Social Sciences in Peace, Mediation and Conflict Research from Finland. My goal is to be a part of making the world we live in safer and more equal, leaving it better for future generations.
My interests include communications, human mobility, sustainable development, conflict resolution, and international politics.
My can-do attitude, communication skills, and proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously ensure my ability to support organisation's goals.

SERVICES FOR YOUTH, CULTURE & SPORTS
PROJECT COORDINATOR I 1.2.2022-30.6.2022
I coordinated conferences, training events, and meetings internationally and nationally, solved logistical challenges, and handled administrative tasks in an EU-wide network to guarantee the success of the projects. I drafted, filed, and disseminated documents and reports. I updated the website and communication channels of the NA. I provided my input in designing a new sustainability action strategy as a member of the Green action working group.
COMMUNICATIONS INTERN I 1.9.-31.12.2021
I created content such as articles and interviews for the platforms of
the Finnish Erasmus+ National Agency in EDUFI. I updated the NA website and social media channels to increase activity on the platforms and to distribute information on the EU programmes in a clear form. I produced newsletters and communicated with different partners and stakeholders to support the internationalisation and networking of organisations.
FINNISH BORDER GUARD, KAINUU
INTERN I 8.5.2019 – 8.9.2019
I organised and hosted the Kainuu district’s 100-years anniversary exhibition. Duties included internal and external communication, reporting, and content creation for the intranet and the internet to support the organisation’s reputation as a trustworthy public authority.

In my volunteer position with the biggest EU youth organisation of the region, I oversaw membership activities for Young European Federalists of Tampere by cultivating an active and engaged membership as well as developing the recruitment strategy. I scripted and produced an advertising video.
